Parsing Candidates & Contacts from LinkedIn with "Exelare LinkedIn Integration" extension

Before you can start parsing profiles from LinkedIn for either contacts or candidates, first make sure you have the LinkedIn Chrome Extension installed, and that you have signed in to the extension using your Exelare login details.  Follow this link for instructions on installing the Chrome Extension:  http://support.exelare.com/knowledgebase/articles/1099585

Parsing From LinkedIn

Navigate to any LinkedIn Profile.  The Exelare LinkedIn extension will automatically cross reference your Exelare database with the LinkedIn profile you are viewing.  You should see a button appear on the profile that says either 'Import to Exelare' or 'Open in Exelare/Update in Exelare'.  You'll know whether the candidate already exists in your database based on the button you see.  For example, if the button says 'Open in Exelare/Update in Exelare', this tells you the candidate is already in Exelare.  And you have the option to open the candidate directly, or click the 'Update in Exelare' button to update the candidate with the data from the LinkedIn profile.

Import to Exelare

If you see this button when you navigate to a LinkedIn profile, it means Exelare has checked your database and has not found the candidate or contact.  Clicking the button will parse the candidate or contact into your Exelare database.

Open in Exelare

If you see this button when you navigate to a LinkedIn profile, it means Exelare has checked your database and has found this person in your database.  Clicking the 'Open in Exelare' button will open the candidate or contact record inside Exelare directly.

Update in Exelare

If you see this button when you navigate to a LinkedIn profile, it means Exelare has checked your database and has found this person in your database.  Clicking the 'Update in Exelare' button will update the candidate or contact record inside Exelare directly.   Hint:  In your extension settings, you will see an option for "Overwrite existing field values in silent update".  If this option is checked, this means field data will be overwritten when you click the 'Update in Exelare' button.  If the option is not checked, it means existing field data will remain (not overwrite).  However, if there are blank fields, those will be filled in.

Advanced Update in Exelare

When you hover over the 'Update in Exelare' button, you will see a new button appear titled 'Advanced Update in Exelare'.  By choosing this option, you will see a new window open up displaying the candidate profile data.  Here you can change any fields or data being parsed.  Then you can follow the prompts to complete parsing the candidate into Exelare.  Click the 'Next' Button.  On the last screen, you will see a list of your Exelare Jobs.  If you would like, you can choose a link type (Potential or Received) and then choose a job to link the candidate to.  This way the candidate shows up in the job pipeline for the job you are sourcing for.
