Start Here! - Getting Started with Exelare For Windows

This quick start guide contains instructions for the following:

  1. Downloading & Installing "Exelare for Windows"
  2. Downloading, Installing & Configuring Outlook Integration.
  3. Configuring Exelare so you can send email from the application 

Instructions for Installing Exelare for Windows

  1. Please disable your antivirus temporarily until you finish installing the software.
  2. Close Outlook and all other Programs, and then download & install the following file:
  3. After installation, double click and open "Exelare For Windows".  You should see a brand new  icon on your desktop.
  4. When the software opens, enter your login details: 
CompanyID:  [[Company ID]]
User Name:  [[UserName]]
Password:  [[Password]]

Please Note:  You can change your password any time by clicking on the Settings  icon in the upper right hand corner of the software.
Select "Users" -> choose User Name -> click "Modify" button – Then enter your new password twice to confirm and click "OK".

Instructions for Outlook Integration with Exelare (xBar)

  1. Click the following link to save the xBar setup file to your desktop. 
  2. Exit Outlook and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Do not start any other program until this process is complete.
  4. Double click on xBarSetup.exe (the file you just downloaded to your desktop).
  5. Follow the steps in the installation wizard and complete the installation.
  6. Open Outlook. If you get a warning message, please click on "Yes" and close Outlook.
  7. Reopen Outlook. Click on "ADD-INS" tab. You will see the xBar installed, including a "Login" button
  8. Click on the "Login" Button and enter your login details:
CompanyID:  [[Company ID]]
User Name:  [[UserName]]
Password:  [[Password]]

Please Note:  When Replying To / Forwarding Emails, we recommend selecting "Use Exelare for Windows" in the "Tools" -> "Options".

Configuring Exelare so you can send email from the application

  1. In Exelare, click on Settings  icon -> "User Options".
  2. Click on "Email" tab and click on "Default Account" tab.  
  3. Fill in all the details and then click "OK".  
Please Note: If you don’t know your outgoing server or user name & password, you will need to check with your email service provider to get this information.  It should be the same information you use for sending emails through Outlook, Gmail or your preferred email client.
