19. My University MS/Office 365 Subscription Is About To Expire

    My title pretty much says it all, except the the looming date of; November 7, AND I am a former student. I talked to my school and they were pretty much blind-sided by this news too. They are trying to figure out an economical way to provide it for the former students, but I am not very confident this will happen. I almost daily use Word and Onenote (and occasionally Excel grow a garden) if that matters. I do not use the cloud, and edit my previously saved documents occasionally.

    MS has offered a monthly fee subscription, but want NO part of that, nor a yearly subscription. What I would prefer is a affordable lifetime license or some other way to keep MS/office 365. I am hoping someone here can help.

For many, this will be their first real taste of PoE 2, and let's be honest, the original Path of Exile had a reputation for being... well, a bit much for new players. But fear not! We've compiled a list of five incredibly beginner-friendly builds designed to let you cruise through the campaign, making your initial experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible. And hey, if you need a little boost or just want to gear up faster, remember that PoE 2 Currency is always an option to speed things along.

    Our focus here is on simplicity and effectiveness. We want builds that don't require meticulously crafted items or an encyclopedic knowledge of game mechanics. These are setups that rely on core skills, readily available passive tree nodes, and often a degree of inherent survivability. Pushing through the campaign should be about enjoying the story and new environments, not constantly dying to random trash mobs.

    Let's kick things off with the Summon Raging Spirit (SRS) Necromancer. Imagine an army of fiery skulls that swarm your enemies! SRS is fantastic because the spirits deal fire damage, which can be easily scaled. You summon them, they attack, and you mostly focus on staying alive and dodging. Necromancer ascendancy offers incredible minion buffs, making your fiery companions both durable and deadly. It’s a very popular choice for a reason: low barrier to entry, high satisfaction.

    Next up, give the Sunder Gladiator a try. This build combines solid melee damage with great survivability and bleed mechanics. Sunder is a powerful physical attack that sends out a shockwave, followed by a ground slam. Gladiators excel at applying and scaling bleed damage, and their ascendancy provides excellent block chance and area of effect. It's a visceral, satisfying build that lets you cleave through hordes while feeling incredibly durable.

    For the spellcasters, the Ignite Fireball Witch is a fantastic pick. Fireball now has some seriously satisfying explosions, especially when igniting enemies and spreading that damage. Elementalist is a great choice for this, as it boosts your elemental damage and ensures your ignites are potent. You cast Fireball, watch things explode, and easily clear packs. It's a classic, effective, and visually impressive way to play a caster that doesn't require precise targeting for good clear.

    Another excellent ranged option is the Explosive Arrow Ballista Hierophant. This build revolves around placing Ballista totems that fire Explosive Arrows. The arrows deal increasing fire damage as they stick into enemies before exploding. With Ancestral Bond (a passive that prevents you from dealing damage directly but vastly buffs your totems), you can stay far back and let your totems do all the work. Hierophant offers great mana sustain and totem buffs, making this a safe, hands-off approach to the campaign.

    Finally, consider the Cold DoT Vortex Occultist. This build is incredibly tanky and deals consistent cold damage over time. You drop Vortex on enemies (often procced by another skill like Frostbolt), and they take continuous cold damage, often chilling and freezing them in place. Occultist provides excellent chaos and cold damage bonuses, curse effectiveness, and great energy shield defenses. It's a slower, more deliberate playstyle, but incredibly safe and effective for progressing through tough zones.

    These five builds should provide an excellent foundation for your Path of Exile 2 free weekend experience. They're designed to be forgiving, fun, and effective at getting you through the campaign. Remember to focus on life and resistances on gear, and don't be afraid to experiment with support gems.
